FRENCH STYLE PAINTED DRINKS CABINET WITH CONTRASTING BLUE ANTIQUE WAXED HAND PAINTED INTERIOR
FITTLEWORTH, WEST SUSSEX
Our client asked us to design and build a freestanding French style drinks cabinet. The central section of the top of the cabinet has toughened adjustable glass shelves for storing the glassware. The bottom of the cabinet provides an extremely versatile storage space which our client has made use of by fitting wine and Champagne bottle racks.
Pure reflecting light
Internal lights are automatically activated when the doors are opened and the light permeates the “low iron” plate glass shelves highlighting the beauty of the displayed items. This type of glass is used in all our display cabinets as it appears crystal clear as opposed to looking like it is edged in green. For this reason it is also used for painted glass splashbacks in order to maintain the integrity of the paint colour.
Get the French look
Quality chicken wire has been fitted inside the top external doors to provide a provincially styled foreground for viewing the Objet d’art. The French theme has been further achieved by drag painting the exterior in antique beige before applying the hand waxed finish. The hand turned wooden knobs have been painted and waxed to match.
