BUILT-IN ALCOVE FIREPLACE UNIT GUILDFORD, SURREY

We were asked by our client to design and build an alcove or window seat next to the fireplace in their newly refurbished property. The alcove seat had to store enough logs for a couple of days of wood burning. We made the other side into a small storage cabinet as this was such a small quantity of wood to store.

Cast and polished concrete seat

The actual bench seat top is a made to measure cast concrete slab which has been sealed and polished, It is featured on the global Houzz interiors platform, where the alcove unit is praised for its “visually calming continuity”.

Matching painted fitted furniture

The log store cabinet and bench seat were designed to also match the bespoke under stairs storage, custom-made desktop and drawer, also made to measure and built by us. All the custom-made cabinetry and fitted furniture have been flawlessly spray-painted in a hard wearing satin white.
