BESPOKE TRADITIONAL FITTED WARDROBES

HERTFORDSHIRE

These bespoke traditional fitted wardrobes are the epitome of craftmanship, sustainability and class. Created for a family home in Hertfordshire, the design and neutral grey painted finish matches the kitchen cabinets to give the house an elegant and cohesive look. The suite of traditional, fitted, shaker-style bedroom furniture includes built-in wardrobes, freestanding bedside cabinets and a bed surround with built-in interconnected storage for the guest room.

Handcrafted, painted cabinets

The handcrafted cabinets have a strong, solid wood face-frame with a traditional cockbead feature. A cockbead is a slender beaded moulding carved onto a cabinet and gives it a period feel, as well as protecting the face of the cabinet from wear and tear. The doors have been set flush with the highest quality solid chrome butt hinges and the solid oak drawers are dovetailed jointed and mounted on full extension concealed drawer slides. Dovetail joints are a signature detail of high quality craftmanship and bespoke, handcrafted cabinets.

Traditional finishing touches

The main handsome built-in wardrobe features a decorative traditional cornice with wide, break-front pilasters, crafted with stop chamfered front edges and a tongue and v-grooved end panel. The tongue and groove joint is extremely strong and will withstand the expansion and shrinkage that wood can experience with changing temperatures. The classic cup drawer handles match the finish of the small ball knobs. Cup handles in the form of shells have been used for centuries and have a timeless appeal thanks to their smooth curves and ergonomic form.
