BESPOKE DARK OAK KITCHEN WITH QUARZ GRANTE WORKTOP

WALTON ON THAMES, SURREY

Here is a beautiful example of a bespoke dark oak kitchen handmade by Claude Clémaron for our client’s residence in Walton on Thames, Surrey. This contemporary shaker inspired kitchen has a square section cabinet frame which gives it a strong, clean contemporary look. The in-frame, flush mounted doors have been embellished with attractive satin chrome hinges and satin chrome, designer bar handles. Customised, low level, see-through shelves enhance the feeling of space in the kitchen.

Dark stained solid oak

The solid wood here is a rich, dark stained oak. Dark stained oak is often used as an alternative to the highly desirable, but increasingly expensive solid walnut wood. However, stained oak is also a style choice as oak has a dramatic, more distinctive grain compared to walnut’s closer, less figured grain. Oak can be stained in many tones and colours, waxed, varnished or finished with a natural oil for a limed effect or enhanced wood tones.

Curve appeal

Curved surfaces and ends are a highly effective and practical feature for peninsulas and kitchen island sections, especially if you have a small kitchen. Curved cupboards and surfaces soften sharp edges, promote flow and are safer than ninety-degree corners. Larger kitchens can accommodate square corners on central islands, and incorporate a breakfast or coffee break section to sit at with high-backed or under-counter stools.
